Micrometer - Hornady Powder Measure

Are users of the Hornady Powder Measure with the micrometer adjustment using the scale (mostly) to adjust loads as designed, or more seeing what a value delivers and adjusting from there? This would require sort of recalibrating the unit on -0- at times due to loosening the end screw on this older unit. This one was built before the push button feature. New to reloading, here.

I use the Hornady Deluxe Powder measure with the micrometer adjustments. The mic. adjustment is just to get you close to a former setting. You MUST use a powder scale to verify the settings. The mic. scale is closest with extruded powders and usually not as close with ball powders. Once set this measure is the best I've used for consistancy.

DO NOT EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DISPENCE POWDER CHARGES YOU HAVEN'T WEIGHED ON A SCALE TO VERIFY YOUR SETTINGS. Also the age , lot#, and condition they're stored at, will very the density & weight of the powder itself adding veriation to the mic settings. The micromiter is a ballpark setting only.
