difference in bullets

if a .38 can be fired through most .357s does that mean the bullets are the same size? and how close to a 9MM are the bullets?

Jacketed .38 spl/357 mag bullets are .357 inch, lead are usually .001 over. 9mm is .355 in jacketed bullets (same as 380 ACP) and usually .001 over in lead.
EDITED: There are some difference in bore size between .357 and lead 9mm, they may not make a difference in accuracy or may.
The best thing is to shoot what fits.
