Reloading for the S&W .460XVR

I'm planning a hunt for deer/hogs and was wondering if it is feasable to load linotype lead bullets for target practice with a S&W .460 XVR. I do not want to lead the barrel or at least keep the leading to a minimum. The linotype bullets will be uncoated lead but lubed to help keep the barrel leading down. My factory (hunting ammo) is S&W 200 gr Hornady .460 magnum which conographs @ 2200 fps at the muzzle.

For that speed you should gascheck them.It is the only way you will keep from leading. You treat the bullets with alox and put the gascheck under the bullet and run it through the swager and they should be stuck. You may already know but leading is caused by the hot gases melting the base of cast bullets. That is why the hotter you load the more they lead.Under 900fps it isnt bad.At 2200fps there is a lot. sam.

Gas check , and load them down just a we bit, you should have great target load, and good fun, without killing yourself

Don't forget to lube em with hog lard just in case you run into a Islamic militant extremist Hog! (It makes certain they can't enter Hog Heaven with the 72 virgin sows)
