City Hunter, this is an excellent cartridge for deer and elk. While I have not had the opportunity to put an elk in the crosshairs, I have taken a number of deer and moose with it. For elk and moose I would recommend the 140 gr. Nosler partition. The moose I got were with that bullet. For deer the 140 Sierra boat tail seems to work well. Coyotes go for the 100 grain, and for fun target shooting the 87 grain Speer - assuming these are still being made.

I've only used 4831 powder for it and found it worked well. In my Remmington I can get a 1.25" group at 100 yds with the 140 gr. Sierra, using 62 grains of 4831. If you are short of brass, remember that you can resize the 7mm Remington Magnum cases down to fit.
