Trouble seating Barnes TSX

I sat down the other day to load some 270gr Barnes Tripple shock in my .375 H&H, as i was seating the projectile, when i let the handle on my press down it would grab ahold of the projectile and pull it back out a little. After re setting - re adjusting and cleaning the die (Lymann) many times i just ruled it out as being the die. So after a trip down the shop yesterday i returned home with a brand new set of Redding dies (my preffered brand of dies anyway) so i sat down thinking all would be back to normal again. This time as i lowered the handle on my press - feeling that the new dies had also grabed hold of the projectile- i was completeley shocked to find that there was no projectile in the case at all. After dissasembaling the die i found the projectile stuck firmly in the seater. I tried everything i could think of and it was still doing it. Just as the ram is almost raised i can feel it get tight as the seater is gripping hold of the projectile then can feel that it is still holding on all the way back down. So after all else failed i tried to seat some 270gr Woodleigh's just as a test and they all seated perfectley.

These are all brand new Remington unfired cases, full length sized chamfered and de burred.
The strange part is that i have loaded 270gr Barnes TSX before with not even a hint of a problem - even from the same box of projectiles so it cant be a bad batch.
The Barnes is a lot more pointed projectile than the Woodleigh but that does not explain why i have loaded them before with no problem at all. I also load Barnes X and Tripple shock in 4 or 5 other calibres and have never struck this problem.

It seems to me that the 270gr Barnes is a perfect fit to the conical shape of the seater.

Any ideas on what is going on here?

It is doing what a Morse taper does to lock a live center in a lathe..The angles match perfectly so they mate together and stick...You need a different seater !

One for a round nose should do just fine...or take the seater out of your old die and have it machined out a bit so the bullet wont seat in it...
