Question 454 casull loads?

ok gents,
ive got a box of
hornady 250 gr. HP/XTP bullets
and
IMR 4227 powder.
anybody have any loads for me ?
i bought the wrong weight bullets by mistake .
i thought i was getting 300 gr.

i found a load for the barnes x 250
can i use my bullets in that recipe?

I don't believe they are interchangeable. However, I've never used the X bullet, I've only used the XTP.

I think the Min. was like 23 grains, and the max was 28 or 29. I got this off of another forum, so take it with a grain of salt.

LOL it's not in my Hodgon's manual, so I thought I'd go and ask if anyone had any good loads for it, I guess someone has a load for it! now we need billy to load and shoot it, to see if it's safe

worse comes to worse billy, you could always email sierra's tech line for a load recommendation using your components. they will answer even if your not using sierra components.
my hornady manual does not even list that bullet for use with the 454, it only lists the 240gr xtp-mag, and 300gr-xtp mag. though they do have that bullet and powder listed for use in 45 colt for the ruger & TC pistols. if you'd like that data i will pass along the info.

data for 45colt in ruger, and TC pistols using imr 4227 and 250gr XTP bullets
starting load is 20.2gr at1150fps
21.5gr at 1200fps
22.9gr at 1250fps
24.2gr at 1300fps this is the max load listed for the 45 colt with this bullet/poder combo. all loads listed were with a WLR primer.
