| Senior Member | Press components...need some info here
lots red the post, but knowone gave any info, so I am asking this one again...sorry for the double thread. I'm wondering if I can put a different brand powder measure, and maybe primer feeder on a lee press. I like the lee progressive and turret presses for price, but keep hearing about issues with the primer feeds and powder measures. Does anyone know if that'll work? Oh, and with the lee progressive presses...what is the real difference between the load master and the pro 1000? Is it just that the press frame is different? Thanks. Anybody?

I know little about Lee but I wouldnt think you could change the components you mention. You cant on other presses.Hard enough to get the ones made for the press to work.Go to midwayusa and look it up and if they have reviews, read the reviews written by people using the product. sam.

Great advice Sam. Funny, I just saw a Lee press (I do not know which model) with a RCBS powder measure on it in a pawn shop.

Hmm, I just figured that the part sizes and all was a universal thing. I did go to midway, and read lots of reviews and like I had said, I found that most were happy with the presses but not the primer feeders and powder measures...which is why I wanted to swap them out for better ones while not having buy a really expensive setup. The lee progressive and turret presses all seem to be good and most are happy with them, I just would like to put an rcbs primer feeder and powder measure on the lee press that I will be buying.

Why not just buy a dillon 550b and you will have everything you need and changing cals. is very easy, go to e-bay reloading equipment they is always several up for bid in several different cal. Just my opinion. steve

Well, I'd love to but I don't have $400 to spend on a setup, which is why I want to go with a lee.

I am using a RCBS poder measure on an older LEE non progressive turret press. It's a 7/8-14 thread and just needs to be manually actuated. And I have used my LEE disc with powder thru expanding die in a LYMAN all american turret press.
