good load for varget/165 gr.spbt

ive got some
lapua brass
sierra 165 gr.spbt
varget

also ive got a 1-10 bbl.
has anyone used these components?
thanks

i am starting backwards at
43gr. varget
and going down.
i goofed and used the data for another bullet yesterday and every load i tested today was hot.
so i came home and broke them down but i did find out 1 good thing.
my loads do much better 0.010 than 0.005 from the lands.
so it wasnt a total loss.

i blew a primer for the 1st time in my life today.

the published recommended OAL is 0.020 from the lands in this rifle.
i am going for 0.015

You're starting to sound like me Billy, you forgot to mention what cartridge you're loading for.

Yeehaw ain't that fun, watch your COAL with hotter loads. I don't load for .308 but I like Varget in my .06 and 6MM. Even tried 25g of varget in my .222 and for a medium burn rate still did well in the little pop gun.

Takes a strong man to admit he Goofed!
When you say you blew the primer, did it hole when the round was fired or did you blow it when priming the case?

I have had federal primers crater badly in my 22/250.The only primers i have blown out were winchester factory ammo that was stored hot by the previous owner of the 22/250.It was hot.Had 2 blow and i called it quits on that ammo.Had to pull 7 boxes of it.

Varget is the same powder as our ADI ar2208.Its a very good powder for 308.I think ive posted the ADI site before so for those who havent seen it here it is again.

http://www.adi-limited.com/handloaders-guide/rifle.asp

Hey billy, have you tried any other powders? As you know some of the hodgdon powders are made by ADI.The others ive tried in 308 are as follows.

Benchmark
BLC-2
H4895
Varget
