Trophy Bonded Bear Claw

I have been reading up on this bonded bullet as an alternative to the Nosler partition. The performance of this bullet is good, but how fast have you guys been loading it. I have a 7mm mag that i would like to load up some of these rounds for, but on further perusing of reloading manuals have found that 175 grain partitions can be loaded to just shy of 3000 fps, while the 175 grain bear claw can only be loaded to just shy of 2800 fps. What have yyou guys been doing? Also in the Federal premium ammo catolauge they list the new tipped tbbc. Has anyone seen/used this?

I Dunno 200 fps is getting to be a little bit of an advantage in footpounds and trajectory. I think i may load up some 160 tbbc's and 175 nosler partitions. But i still have accubonds and tsx's to load up first so no hurry yet.

Thanks Sam,it just what ive noticed mate. All the velocity and war hammer projectiles do bugger all when you cant hit the animal in the sweet spot.Hit it right and it will go down like a bag of shite.

Good advice mate. I agree.

I would like to add to that and say, If they are only rated to at 2800fps, Don't exceed this limit, because you run the risk of the projectile not performing as it was designed. Bullet companies have reccomendations on Min and Max velocity because they have done extensive tests on exactly what makes that projectile fail, and therefore have put those reccomendations on because they know that it will perform the way it was designed between those velocities.
