Help!!! I have a custom 6mm Scott on Mouser Action

Help !!! I have just unwrapped a really nice custom built rifle built on a Mauser Action and the Barrel is stamped 6mm Scott Yes I know that some guys liked the idea of seeing their name on what they felt was the ideal tweaked cartridge but not being much of a rifle person my self I don't know where to start. The rifle was given to me by a friend 35 years ago in the Dayton Ohio area. How do I go about finding what will fit this gun. Thanking anyone in advance that might set me straight. I am now retired and finally have time to use it.

Take it to a competent gunsmith and have them do it. Won't take but a few minutes. It doesn't say anywhere on the barrel or receiver what caliber it is? No matter. As I said, a qualified, competent and reputable gunsmith will have it for you in no time. Better to be super safe then guess. And if it's a custom rifle, very hard for someone that can't even see it to tell? GOOD LUCK!

Mouser? Mouser? I've heard of mouse guns, and mausers, but not a mouser gun!

35 years old, I am just going to guess for fun that it is a 6mm remington. Don't take my guess as any sort of endorsement ,but please let us know what you find out from the gunsmith.

6mm rem would have been marked 244 rem back then. it could be a 6 br or a shouldered 243........chamber cast or take the trip... hell it could be a 220 swift necked up..
