Good quality and work like they are suppose to. I have soft spot for the MP5 also.

When I was looking at hand guns to buy the USP .40 compact caught my eye and I wanted one pretty bad. The range I shoot at didn't have any HK for rent. So, I ended up buying a Ruger because they had plenty of rugers to rent and of course the HK price tag was a bit steep for me.

I do think with in the next year or so though, I will buy that HK USP .40 compact, and I like the two tone one.

I just wish the gun clubs would at least rent them out so I could test one before I bought it.

H&K is a branch that came off Mauser. If you think Mauser has great guns then so does H&K. And you have to admit the MP-5 is one of best SMG only next to the H&K MP-7.Also they are coming out with good assault rifle models like the G36 and the HK417.

Quality, Quality, Quality.

I've not been able to afford an H&K since I got outta the military, but at least two are on my top ten buys list...I just need to win the lotto!!!

I've only owned 1 H&K: a USP .45. I purchased it shortly after they came out several years ago. It was well worth the extra price over any of the other polymer pistols I've fired. Very, very well built and engineered. It just oozed quality. The only thing I didn't like about it was the enormous grip.

I ended up selling to a work buddy who, with the help of his large family ran well over 1000 rounds through it with no cleaning and no malfunctions. It probably would have gone longer, but the guilt got to him and he cleaned it.

It's been several years since I've handled a USP. I'm going to have to go see if the grip is as big as I remember. I might just have to get another, in Expert trim this time.

Agreed my USP .45 has the best natural aim point of any handgun I have. It's just balanced extremely well and it's built to last. Talk about a beefy slide!! Mine is the full size so it's not my carry piece, but rest assured that is what is in my drop holster in the field and under my pillow stuffed with Hornady XTP's =)). I will be getting a USP compact 45 for carry down the road, but until then my g23 fills that role nicely.

I do think they are a little over priced, but it's a status thing just like another member posted Pride/like the Mercedes-Benz of firearms.

personally ive never understood how the little mp5's can be worth the three grand plus that i see them going for at gunshows? (semi-version) especially when i could take the same three grand and walk a few tables farther and get a barrettt .50 for the same price...i just dont get the concept.

I would choose the H&K 416 over any other assault rifle, any day of the week.

M-121 HK/Benelli 12 gauge. Blowback operation.... can even break an ejector and continue firing (been there, done that). HK/Benelli = best of both worlds. Also love my USP... never a failure in over 3K rounds... feeding OR firing.

You can't take a corner in close quarters combat with a Barrett.
As far as HK goes my usp compact 9mm is my concealed carry pistol. I love it. I've had it for 8 or 9 years now. I don't know how many thousands of rounds I'vr put through it and I've never had a malfunction of any type with any ammo from the cheap stuff on up to pricey rounds.

I used a modified HK 91 as a sniper rifle. It had an after market trigger job and with a scope and bipod was a heavy gun to climb buildings with but it was an accurate Son of a Gun. I could put 5 shots into 5/8 at 100 yards. I never ever had one bit of trouble out of that gun.

im sure an mp-5 is a great close quarters gun,but you could get another type firearm that would do just as good ballisticly. for instance for my CQ gun i have an m-1 carbine with a choate pistol grip composite stock. it handles pretty good in tight spots and the 30 carbine round is way superior to the 9mm. and ive got maybe 700 bucks in it. but in the end i guess its personal preferance...my son is dying to get an mp-5 also hahaha

Whirlwind, I think you're right about personal preference. Unfortunately sometimes what we like costs a heck of a lot more than other weapons. I rented a full auto MP-5 and I gotta tell you it was a great handling weapon.

H&K's product = A+
H&K's parts and support = F-

I hear one of the big whigs in Trussville is getting axed. Tried to change too much too fast and the Germans weren't having it!

Yep I agree just ended up with a USP CT .45ACP and am loving it.
But would like to get some basic spare parts like firing pin, extractor and ejector.
Plus maybe a spare trigger group and spring kit for the pistol.

<-------- Ya'll see the name right! USP45 has to be my favorite pistol ever. This monster is one smooth machine and worth every penny. Everyone here has a soft spot for the MP5, but I'll take a 416 over any AR out there. All you Colt fans, check out the HK416 torture test on YouTube.

Recently purchased USP 40 AND USP TACTICAL.45. For me these H&K arms are hands down the best factory built handguns for the money.

I can tell you more about it after December!

We're trading in our HK AG3 service weapons for the 416...
