| P 2000 9mm trigger
I have had this pistol over a year, but have fired only 50 rounds thru it. Reason being, the trigger must have a 20+ lbs pull, or more. I bought this pistol based wholly on owner's recommendations I have read on this site and others. The trigger starts with a very stiff pull which gets a lot worse as the trigger passes the halfway point. I am just about ready to trade the gun but reallly don't want to give up so easily. I haven't contacted the factory, because of the horror stories I have read about their pricing. Any similar stories? Doc |

I don't have a similar story, just a couple of questions? Is that on every pull? Is this DA or DA/SA? I shot a P2000 last week and it was a great experience. I have an xd40sc and the HK was much better. In fact, I want the P2000sk in a .40. |

A friend of mine has one and he let me shoot it recently. The trigger pull was light. I don't know the exact weight but it was no where near 20 pounds. I would contact HK and see what they say.

It sounds like you have the LEM (Law Enforcement Model) model. LEM pistols are DA and have no safety - the trigger pull is intended to be heavy since that is the only protection from an accidental discharge if the trigger is pulled. It takes a lot of practice to get used to a LEM. I have the Variant 3 (double action/single action, with decocker button) and could not be happier with it. Like any piece of precision equipment, H&K pistols come in various models intended for various uses. I think you can have the gun converted to the Variant 3 - not positive about this. The other option would be to trade it for a DA/SA variant. I think the P2000 models are fantastic - if you get the model you need. |
