Sorry, I should have posted earlier...the dealer said he couldn't find a Henry...anywhere. So I looked at several distributors myself and I didn't find any either.
Being one with little patience (I'm gettin' older every minute, ya know) I figured I may as well get what's available so I picked up a Stevens 305. It's light and shoots good.
After playing with a .22 Henry, which I didn't care for, I figured a bolt gun would be more suitable anyway.
So that's the story. I haven't gotten to the range (my back acreage) due to various weather conditions but it's 'supposed' to nice next week.
The Henry was a second choice anyway...first choice was a Ruger Model 96...of course, Ruger quit producing those years ago...duh.

I got me a Henry 22wmr lever action golden boy. It ain't that accurate, according to me. Sent it back back to Henry and they put a new barrel on it. It's better now, I guess? Instead of shooting 6 feet to the right, now I don't know where it's gonna' hit. But at least it's now within 8 inches of where I aimed. I tried 30g, 40g and 45g. No tight groups anywhere on any given day. Took the scope off today just to see. I think I like it better without the scope except that I could push the rear iron sight on with my thumb. Not a tight fit and it doesn't hold windage. Have to check to make sure the sight is still centered every time it starts shooting right. It's not moving in the dovetail but from there back it's not fixed. If I'd have known this with the Henry I'd a bought a Marlin, which I'm trying to do but they don't have any to sell.
