Hi Point Carbine

A coworker of mine asked me if I would be interested in purchasing his Hi-Point 9mm Carbine he had. He is moving and just doesn't want to bring it with him. He says it looks like the one pictured before and has two 10rd magazine to go with it and a sling.

He also says it is pretty accurate as well. He is asking $150.00 for it, is that a good price?

Can anyone tell me what model it is from the picture above?

Thanks

That is the older 995 model. The new model is the 995 TS (tactical stock).
$150.00 is fare with 2 Mag. I paid $289.00 for my 995 TS and $21.00 for the mag.

Here are Hi- Points web sites.

That's an excellent price, especially with 2 magazines. Grab it before he sobers up and asks you for what it's really worth.

If you don't like the 'Planet of the Apes' look, ATI makes an aftermarket stock that makes a Model 995 look like a Beretta CX-4 Storm carbine. I'd also add the Hi-Point 9mm compensator to it; it does improve performance, according to Gun Tests.

You're being offered a seriously good deal on one of the most reliable guns on the market. Buy it already!

Thanks guys. I may just pick it up, because I already shoot 9mm, so it isn't costing me money to pick up another caliber.

From the way it sounds he bought it used at a gun show from a kid that had it slinged on his back and paid $150 then for it. I will see if he will let me test fire it or not.

Thanks, it might be worth it then if the warranty moves from owner to owner.

I wonder if I can use this at the state game land pistol range or if I have to use it at their rifle range.

Not to thread hijack, but I have both the older 995 as well as the 995 TS. I really like the looks of the TS, but it slaps the heck out of my cheek when I shoot it. Have you had that experience?

To the original poster, I say definitely get the carbine for 150 bucks!!!

I think I would have to pull the trigger on that deal. I've been looking at www.gunbroker.com and my local Cabelas and they usually go around $220.00.

Yes, definitely buy it! They're great fun! Don't pass up a .40 carbine if you find one of those too. I have a .40 and bought a 9mm for the grandson.

Does anyone know if this carbine requires an FFL transfer in PA? It is not being sold online to me. It is from someone I know in person.

Shouldn't need a transfer, just buy it from him. Check local laws if you want, but I'd just buy it. Uncle doesn't need to know.
