Great, now I want one! Actually, I had been wanting a .45, and didn't realize that Hi-Point made one, or the fact slipped my mind.

I hate the way they look and feel. That being said, it's on my list. Just haven't decided if I want the .45 ACP or the 9mm.

I had the .40. It is a decent gun.

My wife shot it and fell in love with it and wanted one for Christmas. Surprise, she got mine.

I then went out and got an M&P 40 Full Size.

I still like the Hi-Point. It is what it is. A great glove/tackle/tool box gun.

Great vid!
There aren't any stocking dealers around me to even get to handle one.

I have the 9mm and love it. The only time it has ever jammed was when I was using a steel jacketed round (brown bear).

The last gunshow I was at a couple months ago a dealer had dozens of Hi-Points on his table. I didn't know anything about them, and figured a $140 .45 was a gun perfectly suited to cause a rash of gangbanger amputations.
After seeing this, and an actual test review weeks ago on youtube I am heavily considering picking up a .40 or .45. I am leaning toward the .40 since the Hi-Point website says they are the only model carbine that accepts the same mags as the pistols.

Ive shot and owned them all, worked great. The c9 may be the most comfortable of all, as far as the 45...I use to have a green one..worked perfect..a little bulky but did it's job.

I am 99% sure I am going for the .40, because it can exchange mags with the carbine, I have never seen a blowback .40, and I happen to have about $150 set aside specifically for firearms/ammo. The only small drawback is it only has a 10+1 cap.
The SU-22 carbine will have to wait for tax returns.

Good choice, the 40 is very acurate and you'll have to give a range report on the su-22 carbine as im interested in one myself.

My son has the .45 carbine, and it also will accept the pistol mags. The website just updated with all the info on the .45 rifle; for example, as of about a week ago the manual for the .45 rifle wasn't on the website.
But fer sure and fer real, the .45 rifle and the .45 pistol use the same mags.
(And I just posted his picture with the rifle in another thread in this forum.)

Gives me something to think about. Thanks for the info! The last time I looked the .40 was the only one with interchangeable mags. I was thinking along the lines of a Rock Island, or Taurus 1911, for a pistol but I do really like what I have seen of the .45 carbine. From what I have seen people tend to collect the whole group. Unfortunately the next rifle I need is a .22lr because the only local range within biking distance of me only allows that caliber in a rifle, or carbine.

I have the Hi-Point .45 JHP and the 4595TS; both use the same magazine, and both are very nice shooters. I also have the .380 CF, 9mm C9, and .40 JCP. I like them all. I keep them locked and loaded and shoot them all the time.

I've got the C9 and love it as well. My only criticism would be the limited mag (I'd like at least 11-15 rounds for a luger 9mm). Check out a video on Youtube about excessive "stress" testing on the Hi-points. Impressive durability.

Anyone know the range of stopping power between the .45 and .40? I've been stuck between the two.

Im not too much on the weight, bulkiness, and looks but I have the 45 and cant beat it for the money and reliability.
