C9 Slide has to be "forced" to chamber first round

Hi. I have a New off the UPS truck C9, and it seems to be "tight". I have shot about 200 rounds though it, and have been using Winchester plinkers.

Can you tell me it the gun will "loosen" in. That is, when loading the mag, the slide seems a bit "forced" when chambering the first round. My HP 4O S&W slides and chambers that first round just fine, smooth as silk...!

Thanks for your input!

I LOVE my HP!

C9s like all HP pistols have a 300 to 500 round brake in period.
If the gun is still doing this after that I would suggest sending it back to HP to be looked at.
Have you tried buffing the feed ramp? That helps with feed problems.

Here is a list of who to call and where to send, depending on your gun.

Hi-Point Factory Service
Contact one of the following service & parts centers depending on type of firearm you own.

Beemiller, Inc.
1015 Springmill Rd.
Mansfield, OH 44906
866-948-4867
9mm handgun
.380 handgun
9mm carbine
.40 cal carbine

Iberia Firearms
3929 ST. RT 309
Galion, OH 44833-9408
419-468-3746
.40 cal handgun

Haskell Mfg.
585 E. Blue Lick Rd.
Lima, Ohio 45801
419-225-8297
.45 cal handgun

Again, if it does not loosen up after the brake in period. HP will fix it free, and you will most likely get a free magazine with it when they send it back to make up for your shipping fees to send it to them.

As others have suggested, keep shooting past that break in point and then it should be ok. If not send it back.
