This is not to be mean spirited but with 2 forums for hi point and everyone else having a sub forum why don't you do a little search on here and on google. I think you might find all the info that has been posted about the same question before.
Yes it's a great weapon-I have 2.

My brother just got a 9mm today. $139.99 plus tax.
Can't wait to compare her to my Smith & Wesson M&P's!

| Very Happy with my Hi Point C9
My Hi Point C9 was great out the box. There's been some saying don't buy a HP. If you want to get one because of the price, then go ahead and get one. They have a lifetime, no questions asked warranty. You really can't go wrong. Every gun made today, I'm sure someone will say don't buy that brand, don't buy this brand. I've been told not to buy Glocks because they blow up. LOL.

We used my best friends for taget practice the last shot from 45-70 contender finally reduced it to to many pieces to find. It was fun to shoot at though. We could find no other use for it to small for an anchor.

I have never shot a carbine but I hear nothing but good about them. I wanted one at the last gun show I went to but the dealers there are still looking for "Obama Prices". Cheapest I saw was $295.00. I don't want one that bad.

I bought a 9mm auto from a friend who needed some money. I shot it a couple times, wasn't overly impressed and unloaded it to the first gang banger at the gun show that had cash money. It jammed a lot and I figured if a gang banger was going to get a gun, he might as well have an undependable one.

I thought they was junk, and my brother had one of the big heavy b;ocks they first made. It was junk! Now he has a 9C and loves it! I've changed my opinion also, but have not shot it enough to give a recomendation, other than "if you haven't shot one don't knock one". When the weather breaks we arte going to compart his to my M&P 9mm. I'm certain it will not beat it, but I feel it will not fail miserably either.

My pistol never jams and is 100% reliable. It is just to heavy for ccw.

My c9 works just fine. The more I shoot it the better it shoots. I sold my glock because I couldn't hit the barn wall from inside the barn. And yes I know how to shoot. I have fired USAF SP marksman with both rifle and pistol, and have been qualified with the m203, m60, m29, m870, and the m2. It all comes down to what works for you. Besides, the lifetime warranty can not be beat.

Just bought a hp 45 for christmas and haven't shot it yet glad to find this forum tho. However, if a gun saves your life does that still make it ugly? To me it would look pretty darn good. As for the problems I would venture to say that all guns have a bad apple in the mix just like cars and other stuff. Just my humble opinion.

I tend to collect revolvers. But, I wanted a more "practical" firearm for home defense.
I saw the .40 HP at my local store. The salesman, a guy I trust, said how he tried to make the gun jam with hp, fmj, sp, etc. but the gun worked perfectly.
The price was $163. I bought it.
At the range it jammed the first four or so rounds. I would hit it (the way you're supposed to) tap rack and shoot. After the tap, it would load the round.
After that first magazine, it has worked perfectly, beautifully!

I don't own one.........yet. But I've heard so much more good than bad from those who do, both about their guns and about their customer service. I took a look at their website and they really have some interesting stuff. I'm taking a shine to their pistol caliber carbine. I've always wanted a tough, light carbine that I could just tote around all day in the woods without having to worry about it getting scratched, and the Hi-point carbine is looking mighty good for the job. Hi-Point guns really aren't all that ugly. They're not elegant or streamlined like a Colt SAA or a Browning Hi-Power, just sort of plain-jane really. I've always been one to say that beauty is as beauty does and that form follows function. Something that works impresses me a lot more than something that's pretty, but doesn't operate in the manner for which it was designed. I remember that song from that movie "The Rookie" with Dennis Quaid:
"Stuff that works,
Stuff that holds up,
The kind of stuff that you don't hang on the wall.
Stuff that's real,
Stuff you feel,
The kind of stuff that you reach for, when you fall."

I know nothing of their pistols or carbines... Never fired one never held one. But after looking on Gunbroker for gun prices on .40 and .45 semiauto pistols I kept seeing these and they were so cheap and looked horrid.
I personally wouldn't ever buy one just by the way they look and the price has me weary of them as well.

Glock sells a lot of ugly guns so does Hi point.
The 995TS carbine isn't as ugly as the original carbine but is just as reliable and accurate. In Hi points case you get more than you pay for.

i wouldn't go by just a name. i have every highpoint they make exept for the .380 and i have a glock 17 and after owning them both i would take a highpoint over a glock anyday. the name of a gun will get you killed faster than the quality will. i shoot my highpoints beter and more acuratly than i shoot my glock the only diference in the guns is looks and price . back in the late 80's i had a colt ar15 it was a jam-o-matic and i would have never taken that gun into a fight and that was a expensive gun and a name brand now years later i buy these 4095/995/ts995 and they run under 250.00 and never jammed . by the way i sold that piece of junk ar i now own a bushmaster m4 carbine and it 's way better than that colt ever was.
