here's the final picture of the new baby.she got a laser/flashlight/red-dot scope and a farword pistol grip.i also put a hogue grip on her too . i use the same hogue grip on all my guns so thatway no matter what gun i grab they all have the same feeling and they all fit my hand the same way.

Congrats Tommy.

Personally, I didn't like the way the other original Hi-Point stocks made those look. But once changed, they make for a real decent looking carbine. And it appears the change in stock Hi-Point made on it's own is a real winner as well. No more buying the 995 and immediately looking for a new stock for it. It appears to be a keeper as is.

Which one you get, the 9mm or the .40 cal?

i have the regular 995 and i have the 995ts plus i have the 4095 too.i would like to get some stocks for them too but if i can't i'm happy with them they just have a diferent feel to them but yes the new ts model is very nice infact the acion in the gun feels far more smoother and tighter than the regular 995. when i got it home and racked it back i amediatly notice it was diferent.

I have never shot a hi point carbine and I have heard that they are just a bit better than junk, how are these things really? Reliable? Accurate? Any breakage? Let me know please. Are they worth the money?

i shoot bottle caps and used shotgun shells with mine at 20 yards so that would be around a quarter size groups at 20 yards maybe further. as for as the reliabilty issue all my highpoints go bang when i pull the trigger and all hit the targets they are far from being clasified as junk i would not hesitate to grab any of my highpoints in a life or death situation.

I don't know where you've been "hearing" this, but the H-P carbines are far from junk. They may not be pretty or high-class, but they're damn sure reliable and accurate! Come with a lifetime warrenty too, no matter who owns it. Buy a used one, they'll cover it. Yes, they're worth the money! I have a 995 and a 4095.

Now, H-P pistols have a shaky reputation, but there's a lot of folks that love those too. General concensus on the carbines is that they're the tits.

I am not talking about what I have "heard" (read) here, but some of those who had them. Thank you for the input. If I come across one and it is a good deal, I might grab it. Not sure what use a 9mm carbine is to me, but having another gun is good enough reason. I wish they were made in 7.62x25 Tokerov caliber. That would a great shooting little rifle! Thanks again.

If I might ask. Do you have any problems with the new stock smacking or stinging you when you shoot the guns.
I ask because I have read on some other forums that members there are experiencing problems with the new design.

yes that is the only thing i don't like about it is the "bitch slap" it gives you when you fire it. i'm gonna put something on the stock to try and stop it or alteast reduce it.

What do you think it is about the new stock that does the slapping.
The spring loaded back plate? Top pad on stock? Something else?

i think it's just palin old vibrations just like some ak's that slap too . you know one idea i had was to get one of the car washing mitts that have that wool looking stuff on the outside . i tried one to see if it fits and it did fit right over the stock but i didn't shoot the gun but i bet it will take away all the vibrations comin from the gun.
