convince me to get the 995 carbine

haha, self explainatory, was looking to get a pistol or handgun for range fun, and just to be able to shoot smaller rounds than my Mosin nagant, .30-.30, or 12gauge... and my 22 is just boring..

aswell, i wanted to start reloading my own ammo. was thinking bout hi point pistol but not so sure about that. it seems as the quality of there carbine is higher than most things ive heard bout the pistols. plus i want a good varmint gun and this would do jsut fine it seems in both areas with a spot-light/laser.... so like the title says. Convince me to buy one of these alien rifles. pros? cons? main thing i like is the ability to shoot the 9mm. and cost of rifle it self.... hell the ability to store poptarts in the stock is almost enough to buy one in itself

i maske it a good point to eat before i go shoot that way the only thing i carry is guns&ammo. although i did get to my shooting spot one time with 9 guns and no mags or ammo. i felt really stupid calling home to tell my wife to give my sone a hundred round of this and that ammo and a few mags.

No convincing required. People either like HPs or they don't. The pistols are heavy and blocky and have a definite brake in period. I had to put 250 rounds through mine before it smoothed out. It has been going now for almost three years and no problems.
I bought mine (995) used almost ten years ago and it has never failed to fire or eject, go bang or put the bullet where I pointed the gun. It has worked flawlessly in all that time. Does it look like one of the guns from the original Planet Of The Apes? Yup it sure do.
But it is a great gun just the same. If you buy one try to find one with the old stock. The new stocks look much better but many people are reporting that when they shoot it slaps or pinches them some how? Or if you have a gun range in your area that will let you rent one before you buy it?
IMHO it is worth the price.

I do wish they would do a redesign on the pistols. They can keep the strait blow back system because it works just fine. But the ergonomics of the gun is just all wrong. The mag eject button is in a bad location for many people. And I wish they would make a double stack version of their C9. It would be a great range or house gun. Lots of ammo, and the gun is very imposing. That or the perp would subdue him self with the laughing fit when he saw the HP.
Truth be told HPs are good guns and don't get the respect they deserve.

Mine is 12 years old and it loves cheap reloads (especially the 124 grain LRN from Ultramax). It doesn't need a scope to be accurate out to the 100 yard line; try to do that with any service pistol.

What is it about the stock on the TS that actually does the pinching?
The TS stock does look much better than the old one, pity that they went through all that work only to have such a huge flaw in the new stock.

i don't know what it is but it feels like a ping to the cheek like if someone was to hit you in the cheek with a rubber band on a really cold day. just lay a rag over the stock in between your cheek and the gun and it;s fine

$200+ for a reliable, accurate 9mm semi auto carbine that comes with a life time warranty. Convince yourself why you wouldn't buy one.
