I had my 1894 Marlin Cowboy converted to .45 ACP and like it alot.

Marlin .45 ACP Conversion - Lever Guns - Guns & Shooting - The Cast Bullet Association Inc. Forum

It holds THIRTEEN rounds in the magazine tube, as finished with 22-1/2" barrel), is 39" overall and weighs 6 lbs. 12 ozs. I use 230-gr. lead FN Cowboy slugs and JHPs. A charge of 5 grs. of Bullseye and 230-gr. LFN gives about 1000 f.p.s. in a rifle, vs. 830 in an M1911 pistol. Given the limited powder capacity and faster powders used in the .45 ACP you only get modest velocity gains at permissible chamber pressures (20,000 cup max.) I'm not interested in seeing how hot I can load .45 ACP in a rifle, because that defeats the whole purpose of the gun, which is top be able to use my handgun ammo in it, and vice-versa. I don't load or shoot anything in this rifle that my S&W Model 625 revolver or an M1911 can't handle. I get 2 inch iron sight groups at 50 yards and in proportion to 100. Main mechanical issue with shorter overall length cartridges is the position of the cartridge stop on the lifter. You need to ensure that the rifle won't double feed two rounds at once and jam the lifter.

They already DO make one, it's just not for sale yet. Call 'em up and holler about it. Report what you find out.

Again, call them. They'll answer the phone and talk to you. I've done it before, but I don't really care about the 4595 anymore. I've seen photos of them, they're huge and too "tacticool" to suit me. Plus, I've added other guns to my collection that satisfied that urge. I have an M1 carbine now, and that can't be topped by no big, ugly 10-shot .45 carbine.

See? Huge and ugly. Looks to be a lot bigger than the 995 or 4095.
