| Interesting old holster (attic find) Found this leather holster in the attic of an old house we were cleaning out. It's a swivel design, hinged in the middle with two hinges. Has a button loop top go over the hammer. Believe it is for a revolver--slight impression in the leather of a cylinder, plus the loops hold 30 bullets. Has the letters "ZD" stamped on the back and also the stamp of an indecipherable mark. There is a brass D-ring on one end (pictured) with an anchor on it. Looks like it had two but one is missing. Large (almost 3.5 inches) belt tunnel, and pistol would hang low on the leg; it's certainly not a hip hanger. Any ideas? Thanks! |

| That's really interesting. I bet there's some history behind that holster! Be sure and keep us posted if you find anything out. You could probably do a public records search and find out who lived in the house. Might help you find out the history.
