Would-be car thieves slam SUV into apt. complex in NW Houston

Two would-be car thieves slammed into the complex after putting a Chevy Suburban in drive instead of reverse.

(8/27/03 - NW HOUSTON) — Police are on the search for two would be car thieves who accidentally drove an SUV into an apartment building.

Witnesses say the two men attempted to steal a Chevy Suburban parked in a northwest Houston apartment complex parking lot. The driver apparently put the car into drive rather than reverse and drove into the ground floor apartment.

No one was at home at the time and there were no injuries, but a lot of damage.
