The HMMVs are incredible feats of engineering. Look at the underside of a Hummer H1 some time (the REAL one, not the H2 SUV).

H1 is a military truck made for a purpose. H2 is an oversized Suburban with no purpose. Don't you guys also call the 17 HMR round the 17 Hummer sometimes?

The H2 isn't for off road -- now give me a retired H1 and I would be very happy - it would make a great hunting rig -- anyway I have the nice ride for the good looking factor. The ad should have shown the truck sitting on his head.

WHEN WE COULD FIRST BUY THE HUMMER MY DEALER WAS ON MY DOORSTEP. AT THE TIME I HAD A FLEET OF 4X4 CHEVY 1 TON VAN CONVERSIONS WITH 4 INCH BLOCKS AND 17 INCH WHEELS. MY PROBLEM WAS THE WHEEL TRACK WAS TOO WIDE FOR BACK ROAD USE AND YOU COULDNT PARK IT IN A REGULAR SPACE. LIKE TO BROKE HIS HEART AS HE THOUGHT HE HAD A SURE SALE. DANA |

yea that ummm slang meaning of the term is not a slang word used now-a-days. i think that's why not everyone understood.

great joke ad, nut i hate hummers, they're to squared, if they changed the body of a hummer, i'd consider looking at it. I love it that it has all the power and torque(sp??), but the body throws the whole thing away. -Mike |
