It is time to take a serious look at our involvement there. Every day there are news reports about more deaths. Every night on the TV are photos of death and destruction. Why are we still there? The land is too large to secure all of it. The bad people causing this damage can roam anywhere, and we can't possibly police the whole place. Why are we still there? We occupied this land, which we had to take by force, and it continues to cause us nothing but trouble. Why are we still there? Their government is unstable, and in the process of changing. Why are we still there?> Refugees are fleeing by the thousands, driven from their homes. Why are we still there? It will cost billions to rebuild, which we can't afford. Why are we still there? There are more than 1000 religious sects. We can't even secure the borders. Why are we still there? And to repeat. Every day we hear of more Americans killed in this dangerous land. It is clear! We MUST abandon California!

Allen T...I know what you've said is true. I was just joking with the above post. As usual, the minority of the population cause the others to get the same reputation as those troublemakers or weirdo's. For what it's worth, I will usually speak up when someone generalizes about a subject, like I did above with this joke, but I made an exception to my better judgment and now I'm apologizing to you. But for the rest of those weirdo's there...what I said above stands!

Oxford, no need to apologize to me. Like I said I have lived all over the US. I think the rest of the U.S. looks at California, Like the rest of the world looks at the U.S.. |

7mmag6, THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!!!! You think all of California is like LA, I am here to tell you it is not, I grew up in RURAL El Dorado county, I learned how to hunt, fish and about the forest on my family propery. Our nearest neighbor was a half a mile down the street. Out our back door was the American River Divide Now I live in Sacramento, about 30 mins from the family home (I have also just purchased some property and plan on building down the street from mom and dad). Most people I meet are just like me CONSERVITIVE. The problem with California are the coastal regions. Does Ca have too many gun laws HELL yes, can I get a mag that hold over 10 Rds hell no, can I change the laws? I am trying I am a NRA member, I vote in every election and I encourage others whom feel as I do to also vote for the pro gun canidate, but like I said before things are changin here. 7Mmag6...that's a beautiful view where you live. Looks like a great place to trek if you're well prepared for that kind of environment. Ox:nod:

7Mmag6...what kind of wild game lives there? Also, are any domestic animals like cattle or sheep, etc. grazing in the areas you've mentioned?
