locals do this too, but why can't people figure out that the yellow lines are supposed to be the middle of the driving area, and you shouldn't park where the black lines are, because that's not parking spots anymore(our parking lot is all fuckered up from the construction)

< is constantly amazed by tourist drivers who think they can do anything they want; that somehow just because they're in the desert there are no longer any traffic regulations. People driving down the middle of the road, parking backwards facing traffic, ignoring stop signs and lane markers, etc.
< has dodged motor homes meandering down the wrong side of the road in Desert Center more than once, and almost ate it one day coming off the Antelope Valley Freeway near Acton, because a couple in a red Mercedes convertible had pulled off Red Rover Mine Road, and parked right smack dab across the freeway offramp while they were taking pictures. Apparently they thought they were the only car on the road that day.

< feels ^'s pain. Tourists in Galveston drive less than 20 mph and don't know how to parallel park on the Seawall so they slow traffic quite a bit. Even though it's a tourist town there's still ppl here that work. There's an awful lot of doctors in this city.
