THIS IS EXACTLY AS IT IS!!

We called our frigate the "Party Barge". I got paid to take three years of Caribean Tours! We'd hit the beach, and go bikini hunting. We carried a 32 quart cooler - filled with a single huge "Rum & Coke"!

The Navy's a blast, if you like to travel.

Talking

That was great! I'm still bent over laughing. My Dad, two uncles and brother were Navy men so now I know what they were actually doing.

next best thing is the Coast Guard, then you get plenty of action right in our own waters harassing us fishermen.

I irritated my older brother and baby brother by asking them how they got into the Coast Guard without being six feet tall.

When they gave me puzzled looks, I told 'em I thought it was required, so they could wade ashore if their boats sank...did you know Coasties have no sense of humor at all when they're dealing with Navy types?

Troy, we sailed a mission once with the Coastie Cutter USCG BEAR. It was after her refit - she had plowed through a huge wave, and momentarily became a submarine!
The pressure of the water set the bridge front back several inches, ripped all the stanchions from the foc'sle and tore the fiberglass dome of the gun mount off!
We really respected those Coasties after that!
They get deployed overseas too. A lot of folks don't realize that.

No argument at all, Big Dog. But you wouldn't have wanted me to let little things like the facts stop me from yanking their chains, would you? That's what brothers are for...
