| We have a '06 Ford F-150 stx with the extended cab; my husband is not a Ford fan and have to humbly admit that he got it on an "A" plan. Its used to pull our 28 foot pontoon and has not let us down yet....it was built in NORFOLK, not Mexico, lol! I would go for another Ford!

| I'm sure you're correct on that now that I've checked but anymore who knows where they're made or where the parts come from? Some Ford cars are still made in Mexico and I'm pretty sure the F-150's in 98 were made in Mexico. My last pickup was a Ford and I sold it a couple of years ago. It was a 94 and it's life was pretty amazing. It had 331,000 on the original engine and transmission. Saw it again a year later. You probably ask why I would buy a Tundra. Kind of like buying a new gun or other toy. Thought I'd try something different. Too early to tell if it will be as good as a Ford. Back to that question. I would like to have the new Tundra 4x4.

| if money were no object I would have a nissan titan 4x4, they look so good compared to other trucks... money being an object like it is means I have a '06 chevy 4x4 reg.cab long bed with no power anything and no carpet. it's nice to dream though... |

| Troll B' Gone ![]() ![]() | I would get a Toyota Tundra, because that is what I drive now, and I love that truck, even though it costs $60 to fill up.

| Thanks Midas, I thought I might be the only one here to own an Jamericanese truck. Do you have the full grown truck? Mine is an 03 with 85,000. Almost grown but not quite. I've had to replace a dome light so far. Forgot about brakes and tires.

| I would go with a Ford F150 supercrew with a 6 1/2 foot bed. I would have to have 4 wheel drive but I am unsure If I would go with the XLT or the FX4... as long as I can get the FX4 without the consel and consel shifter I would go with that. I currently have a 1995 F150 regular cab 2 wheel drive. It was my Dad's before I bought it from him. He took very good care of it. It only has 80,000 miles on it and until last year didn't have a spot of rust anywhere. I use it for hunting, fishing and camping. I have a 24 ft 5th-wheel camper and a small fishing boat I pull with it. It was pretty interesting driving with all three hooked up the first time. I have only done it a couple of times. It makes for a very long train. I don't know how some guys do it with a 28ft camper and an 18 ft ski boat but I suppose it isn't much different. The camper is about all I can pull with my current pickup. It has the 5.0L V8 so newer truck with the 5.4L V8 would do a little better (and suck more gas too I suppose).

| How much fuel do these big 1 tonners use? The new ponti i showed on the last page get 23.5mpg and is a 1000kg (1 tonner), does this compare? Sorry to sound ignorant, but big f-250's and the like a fairly rare here and i assumed they were mucg bigger load capacity than 1000kg.

| Buy Ford they last forever. The 250 would be my choice if I were in the market. I have a 2005 F150 and love it. My brother has always been a Dodge man, but since I let him drive my F150 he's talking about buying a Ford.

| Senior Member | Toyota Tundra V-8. Right now it's the best full size truck out there, bar none. After that a F-250 supercab.

| my parents told me they'd pay for half of my truck when i get the money together, so I'm probably going to end up with a Toyota Tacoma. standard cab, manual transmission, 4 WD, and I'll probably end up getting a topper for it it would be able to go on roads pretty much anywhere in the area, and be able to haul a snowmobile or ATV if I decide to get one |

| I used to be a Chevy/GMC guy but after my S-10 has 14 repairs in the 1st 14 days (bought it Brand New!!) I got fed up with them. I now have a Hyundai Santa Fe (mini-SUV) as we moved to the city and needed a family vehicle. Most of Ford & GM's are parts from other countries but assembled in the US anyway. On a side note, the company that built the huge steel mill for Hyundai in South Korea was my wife's employer at the time. They was a German company with a US office. She arranged all of the financing for it (and several in Mexico, Egypt & Turkey and a few other countries) along with all of the parts ordering and getting shipped there. I used to go visit her at lunch and just look over all of the blueprints and spec. sheets. (They also have built and/or re-built pickling lines in several US cities.) Man that was a GREAT job for her! She always got large bonuses and always treated professionally and with respect. Too bad they got bought out by a US Investment company who then sold all of the patents to a company in Turkey and shut them down! |
