Police: Men Drive To Sentencing In Stolen Car
N.Y. Brothers, Convicted On Drug Charges, Now May Face Stiffer Penalty

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. -- Two New York City men are probably wishing they picked a different way to travel to their drug sentencing on Wednesday.

Anthony and Kevin Smith, pulled over for driving too slow on their way to the courthouse, were driving a stolen car, police say.

State police say the car had been reported stolen last month in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

The brothers were facing at least three years in prison for their roles in a crack cocaine ring.

But prosecutors say the plea deal is now off the table, and they will ask for stiffer sentences because of the stolen car charges.
