Yeah here in Hellifornia if you won the lottery with Arnold Fartenegger's 10 percent tax hike you'd be lucky to take home a dollar a year for a million years.

I bought my first PowerBall ticket in Arkansas this evening. In the past I had to drive about 15 miles to Louisiana to buy one.
I really hate seeing our state selling them...A.H

Right, AH. This could get us into a really good discussion of how much gambling revenue really does help a state. Here in PA we initiated table games recently and build a few casinos. There are so many discussions of the graft associated with who got the winning bid in Pittsburgh that you have to wonder if it all wasn't "fixed." We taxpayers have yet to see any of the money that the governor and legislature promised us as property tax rebates. Then we could all look at the dark and light sides of Atlantic City and Las Vegas.

Yep, it really makes you wonder. Here in sunny Florida, the Lotto is supposed to be helping to fund Education. BUT..... the schools are hurting, many have laid off teachers and had their budgets slashed. New construction is halted. Classes are getting too large for the kids to get any one-on-one help.

Folks are still buying Lotto tickets - but just WHERE is that money going......?
