| Woman Unhappy With $5,400 Magic Wands Buyer Lodges Complaint With Police About Psychic Posted: 9:42 a.m. EST January 28, 2003 BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania woman who bought alleged magic wands from a psychic to erase negative thoughts discovered it was $5,400 of her money that disappeared. According to a complaint lodged with police, Joann Zansky of West Easton bought the wands between October and January from a woman who claims to be a psychic. Zansky said the woman "was a terrific actress." She believed her. Zansky said she contacted Bethlehem police on Friday after she became suspicious about the effectiveness of the three $1,800 wands she purchased. Lt. Robert Righi said police are investigating. He said it may be some violation of consumer fraud. The complaint names the psychic as Peaches Miller, of Psychic Readings. No charges have been filed. A woman who answered the phone at Psychic Readings Monday said Miller was unavailable. Copyright 2003 by The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
