Our upland season.......

started four day's ago so away we went. The dog is lying behind me as I speak totally shattered  She loved it! Three day's on the hill doing what she loves and she was in doggy heaven. (Hmmm I didn't think it was to bad myself.)
One of the young fella's shooting with me bought his lab along, all it did was walk around behind him. So it was up to Jess, and did she rise to the occassion.

She put up around 25-30 covey's and one pheasant. Every couple of hour's I took her down to the lake for a water, one trip to the lake I blew a duck over and out she went. It was a long shoot and wasn't completely dead, so it took her about five minutes to finally catch up with it (one of them ones that dives whenever the dog got near it).
Theres nothing like hunting with a good dog, once you've tried it you never want to be without one.

Man I love wire haired pointers

sounds like fun, our earliest season is Squirrell in August. However it seems like spring turkey season just got over.
