Question Bore Hunting/What Rifle to use?

Happy Holiday(s) Shooters,Well here it is.It is gonna be not long from now that I will be going out for the first time wild pig hunting.I'm only 47,just a kid.Now most of my weapons are of military rank, i.e. M1 Garand @ 30.06,M1A/M14 Springfield .308,SKS.Of course they are semi-auto.I only have 2 bolt actions,Savage 10fp .308 and an 8mm Mauser(no scope, very accuate at 100yrds).Also is the Benelli Nova 12ga. Is using a rifled slug good to use?The only one with a scope is the Savage. What would you guys suggest I use, and what type and weight of ammo to use as well? I just can't afford to go out and buy something new/used tomorrow.Thanks....

Wink Federal

PREMIUM SLUGS

For smoothbore shooters, Federal offers the Premium Rifled Slug, a helix-ribbed Hydra-Shok slug also available in a low recoil load that's great for smaller folks and those new to the sport.

RIFLED & SABOTS SLUGS

If you're the kind of deer hunter who prefers things up close and personal, Federal Classic has your kind of ammunition. The Classic Sabot Slug delivers pinpoint accuracy and lethal stopping power. The Classic Rifled Slug boasts the biggest, heaviest slug available, and it also features an exclusive one-piece wad to help reduce recoil.

DeanR, take the Savage. Any 30 caliber will be fine.

any of your .308s or '06 would be fine. The shot gun will work but is short ranged.

Hey "Old Navy," I have not headed out yet.As I may have mentioned,I have never hunted bore, but would sure like to do it. It seems like not all my friends are hunters and I sure don't want to do it alone. So,hopefully this year sometime I'll have that oppertunity.I assume you are going to "Hunter-Leggitt?" Semper Fi
