Chicago did not get the Olympics. Now, some people may think this is a bad thing but, we simply can't afford it.

Some nations, such as Greece, do not recover financially for decades.

The costs to host an Olympics is phenominal yet the free spending crowds are there for only short time.

LOL Why did anyone think Chicago would be chosen?The Olympic Committee was looking for a suitable location to have the Olympics.Chicago isn't a location,it's a criminal enterprise.It's a place to avoid not go to.

The rest of us in Illinois can't afford Chicago now. Can you imagine what it would be if they had been chosen. There's a thread about this in the Powder Keg section that I didn't see before I posted this. Everybody is happy for Rio.
