Talking New victim/member!

Hello all! I recently acquired a Yugo M48 and will proudly admit that I've been badly bitten!

I poked around on here a bit prior to buying my newest boom stick and would like to say thanks for all the info! I'm sure I'll be bummin' some more so thanks in advance also!

I need more guns.....

Carry on!

~John

For sure! I've seen these on ebay and what-not and just haven't brought myself to getting any. Where are you located and what'llya take for 'em? I'm also looking for a front sight hood....From what I can tell, the same hood is used on the Mauser K98, correct? The cleaning rod is missing as well but I can make do. I also have to dig through some storage boxes, 'cause I swear I've got a pointy thing that'll fit on the end!!

I've still not shot it and it might not be until after Christmas that I do, but I've got a "bit" of cosmoline to contended with in the mean time!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

EDIT: toolman, just looked at your location under your avatar. ...no excuse...

Thanks Chris, Apollyon67! No, no pics yet. Nothing to special looking about it, er, her! lol She does have all matching numbers which I know isn't that special or rare but I think it's neat. I wish I could afford the higher $$ guns and hopefully down the road I'll be able to (graduating college in 2 weeks!!). The list of "firearms to get" is long...as is everyones I guess!!

I'll definitely post some pics when I get around to it and an after-action update. I'll be cleaning the cosmoline and probably doing the electro-chemical cleaning of the barrel in the mean time (school is taking up a lot of time, the range isn't priority!). I read the procedure for the homemade version using the electrode, ammonium, etc. in the maintenance section so I'm anxious to see how it goes....anyway, thanks again!!!

Heya LilBucket! Welcome to G&G! I need more guns too, I think it's an ongoing sickness around here. I started collecting about 2 years ago and I'm already on #12! It's amazing how fast they accumulate. I used to own a Yugo M48. Only reason I sold it was I wanted one that was in better shape ( and it was also part of a trade for 2 Mosins ). They are good rifles though, and I'm sure yours will serve you well.
