Welcome aboard! You're gonna love it here! I reload for both 308 and 45ACP. I normally don't shoot reloads thru my M1A as the bullets need to have a cannelure groove, and have to be crimped tighter than for a bolt rifle. I shot some reloads out of my M1, and the second bullet loaded came out of the case and traveled about 3 inches down the barrel. The next bullet in the clip also popped out of the case and went into the receiver. Something didn't feel right, so I opened it up and it probably saved me and my rifle. I'm a little gunshy these days about reloads in the M1 or the M1A. Someday, I'll get around to experimenting some more. The 45's are a different animal, they don't have the force of the rifle's bolt when it slams home. Anyway, enjoy your time here. Scotty

so for,(knock on my wooden head) I've loaded and shot 40 reloads through the m1a using lc brass no 34 cci primers 41.5 and 42.oo imr 4064 with 168 smk bullets i didnt experience any problems with feeding or ejection no apparent stress on any parts bolt rod etc. as for my ability to shoot a tight group ???? i'm inclined to believe its me and not the rifle? i have had very good luck with the m852 lc ammo i would like to come close to duplicating that load
