| Welcome!! Glad you joined G&G. You'll find some good folks, info, and a bit of fun all on one site. So kick back, jump in and enjoy...Always good to have a couple or so .22's around. Cheap to shoot, reliable and accurate..... All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing |

Welcome to the site. Keep shooting that .22! You'll learn a lot and have fun. Try shooting soda cans or milk jugs full of water, eggs, paintballs, water ballons, that might spice it up for you a bit.

Welcome and how do. You'll be glad you joined. A wealth of information to be had if you take the time and friendly people to ask if you didn't find the answer you were looking for. Only been here maybe a month,if that myself and that's what I've found so far. Enjoy. G-Meister

Aloha braddah, ooops sorry he's not from the Islands he's from Ireland! The price for ammo starts to rise considerably once you get away from the ole 22's. Even on a very tight budget you can shoot 22's all day long! Are you planning to hunt? If you want to shoot A LOT and you get a centerfire, you might wanna think about handloading equipment! I haven't tried it yet but shooting charcoal is supposed to be fun. I shoot clays at different distances and heights on the backstop. I like shooting cans filled w/water and then frozen, and also empty shotgun shells placed far enough to barely be visible.

| A suggestion
I really like the .243 as it is powerful enough yet not recoil prohibitive for target shooting and hunting up do deer sized game. I would recommend a higher quality bolt action for accuracy.

Welcome Aboard. You can get some good information here and meet some pretty decent people while you're at it. 243, 308, 30/06...find out which is most popular with the guys at the pub and go with that...after doing some research on all. You may find that whoever has what will never tell it's no good. 308's good all around...that's my preference though. Availability of good ammo is another thing to consider. |
