Hello to all.... I was poking around and found this forum and it looked like a good place to join so… here I am. A little about me…I mainly hunt Deer but I do a little Coyote/Bobcat/Turkey hunting just to get out in the woods. My mainstay for Gun season is a slightly modified Remington 700 in the 30-06. For bow season I use an older Clearwater compound not to fancy but it gets the job done. I have a 50 cal CVA Optima 209 Mag for muzzleloader season. And an old Springfield 20 Gauge that I use for Turkey/Squirrel, and I'm about to acquire a Savage 93FV .22 Magnum for the varmints. I mainly hunt here in central WV, but I do have a little hide-away spot in Northern OH. That’s next door to a game preserve. : ) |

Welcome! I, personally, don't hunt, but you'll find plenty of folks here who do!

B-W-H Were all delighted to have you a board feller so WELCOME to GUN and GAME ! Say ? How's that 20ga do on Turkeys and what shells do you use. My Ole Step Dad and I are going to be going out soon to listen for Turkeys. I bought a Mossy 930 12ga. turkey shotgun back in July and I bought a H&R-NEF Pardner Pumpaction a couple weeks ago in a 20ga. I will hunt with the 12ga. 1st. but then I've got a hankering to take the 20ga. later. The 20ga. will handle 3" magnum loads. What would you reccomend ?...A.H |

@ ArkansasHunter, I will admit that the 20 is not my first choice for turkey but, you got to use what ya got.... Remington has some good turkey loads for the 20. I like using the # 6 shot myself...However I have heard that Hevi-Shot has been getting some good revews. You might check it out. |
