Smile I got a hobby again.

Background: Got my first gun in 2002 or 2003. Proceeded to get a C&R license and went nuts on the old guns. Joined the local Izaak Walton League to use their range. I moved and couldn't find a cheap or free range so I lost the bug. Moved back but just didn't have the same interest as I had before.

Current: Found a few co-workers (turned buddies) at work who have the same interest as me so we found a range nearby. I'm currently waiting for my FOID card (shakes fist) so I can bring my guns over from Iowa. Looking forward to joining the Clay Shooting league that the range offers.

I'm slowing getting back into the hobby so not to overwhelm myself or the woman who'll have to put up with it.

Welcome to G&G. Sorry to here you moved back to Illinois. lol I want out ASAP. Blojobovich and his cronies are making it miserable. Daley is pushing all sorts of gun laws and or restrictions and I'm sure he's hoping the state will consider some of them for all of Illinois. Not any real decent places to go shooting, near me anyhow. I'm in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Maybe where you're at there are better ranges. Only on buy me. Other then that, I gotta drive for miles or hours to find a decent one.

But glad to here you've found the sport again. Hope it continues to grow and it gets back to where it once was.

My buddies and I went to the range thats 5-10 miles outside of town tonight to look around. Very nice place thats popular but not over crowded. They have clay and skeet machines which is new to me. Two outdoor ranges and a indoor pistol range. The yearly membership fee is reasonable and they charge $5 for 25 clays on the machine. I know clays are 90 for $7 but I don't have a problem paying for the use of the machine.

We all came away from the trip very excited. We are currently waiting for my FOID (shakes fist) card to arrive then we'll sign up. My woman said I can only bring three guns from Iowa back, I'm trying to get her to let me do at least seven.

I'm thinkin' it'd be cheaper to bring all of your guns back and leave the woman in Iowa!

Ugh, sorry, didn't see your post.

Central IL now. Bloomington/Normal area. The area isn't bad. There is some crime and bad parts that you don't want to be in. I'm in a pretty good spot and can't wait for the college kids to leave. Area needs more cops for sure, barely ever see them.
