| In Massachusetts some towns will automatically issue the high capicity permit, other towns will not issue it, Like Westfield, automatic high capicity for all lawful purposes.

| Welcome to the forum, revan. I suggest you do two things before you turn in that form. First, go to the NRA website and see if you can find out about pistol permits in Massachusetts. I suspect they are screwy as New York State, and we've got damned screwy laws here. Second, go down to the local gun club and ask they people with pistol permits what THEY put on their forms, so you'll have an idea of what works with the police and/or the judge. (In the Peoples Democratic Republic of New York, you apply to the police for a pistol permit, but a judge decides whether to grant your permit or not. Plus which, the criteria vary from county to county. Plus which, we have 3 different kinds! As I said, screwy.) Your best chance for a CCW, I think, is if you have a cash business; that is, where you get paid by a lot of your customers in cash. The rationale is that you're more likely to get held up than an ordinary joe. But the rules have changed since I lived there. As I said, talk to the locals. They'll have the best practical info for you. |
