I was snooping around

Hi
I was snooping around and found this forum. I am hoping to learn a lot from this group. My husband and I are licensed gun dealers and I have to tell you that I have not really kept up on things for about 6 years. I know that sounds really stupid but I got a little nervous dealing with firearms and the public. So I started selling on a online site for firearms. Even so I feel out of the loop. Is there anyone else out there that maybe developed this kind of fear with the firearms and public. I am hoping I an not the only boob out there.

I guess I should rephrase that. I am not afraid of people, I am afraid of dealing with the public with firearms. So much in the news about how firearms are being used for things other than what they were intended for. I do not know if I have made that a little clearer or not.

I can't really help you with your "fear" of selling firearms except to agree that maybe a new line of work/career/job/profession isn't a bad idea? Why continue to do something if it makes you feel the way it does?

Mainly I popped in just to say hello and welcome you to the site. No need to have any fears here. Lots of great people here. Just take some time and read the many posts/threads and that should be enough to show you I'm right. Sure there may be a few, but very few. And eventually they show their true colors and next thin you know they're GONE.

As long as you follow the rules, dot your i's, cross your t's and make sure you do what you're suppose to, what someone does after the fact isn't something you can't control. Not to say it still wouldn't or shouldn't effect you. That just shows you have a heart and compassion. If you feel this way, maybe you should get out of the firearm selling business? The same thing can happen selling on the internet. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean if they use one bought from you that it won't affect at all or any different.

Besides, I think selling it to someone face to face is better anyhow. You just might prevent something from happening that way? You just never know. Good luck

Oh-I did not take it a rude. I also should not be participating in forums when I am so tired I cannot even read what I wrote-My gosh I sounded like I was begging for therapy.

I was just trying introduce myself to everyone and thought I should at least let you know a little about me (probably too much information). The one thing I do miss about not having face to face transactions is the old timers that came in to purchase. You learn sooo much from an avid firearms collector. My father was a sportsman and hunter and I grew up around firearms all of my life and I am not scared of the guns.

Well that is enough of my carrying on-I will go and lurk at what others are using the forum for.

Thanks
Debb

Hello from Arkansas. I feel that because you sell firearms to people that is great. You cannot feel responsible for what they do with them. If you sold baseball bats and it was used in a crime it's not your fault. Welcome to the forum and I hope you will share your knowledge with us as well.
Mike
