I just picked up a pretty nice 12 ga. Ithaca Model 51 Magnum Semi-automatic. Its a nice gun works good. But, I have never taken one down. Before I start; I would like to learn the way the factory recommends. Anyone have any info on this particular gun?
I don't have anything digital on that, but it comes apart pretty easy. Mine needed a lot of work when i bought it (Factory quality control issues) and I do not remember having any issues taking it down. If memory serves, the model 51 comes apart without any force, so you shouldn't have to force or whack anything.
Edit: I really enjoy the Ithica 37's and 51's. I hope it works well for you. Unscrew the locking nut on the handguard, pull it up and off, and go from there. I remember it being pretty strait forward without any "trick" stuff.
