| Kel-Tech PLR 16 Pistol
Anyone got one? Anyone shoot one? I have looked at this Pistol many times and I was just wondering if it is worth the $$$. Sure would like some feedback from a User/Shooter of a PLR! Thanks |

| All I can say is stay tuned, I'll let you know as soon as it gets here. I looked on you tube and there are several shooting clips of the PRL-16 they were good enough to sell me on an order. but .223 is my caliber of preference. |

Just be sure to have hearing protection. They are impressive in sight, sound and accuracy. I have fired a few hundred rounds through mine with no issues. I added the fore grip and a LER scope. It really is a formidable weapon. I have used it for coyotes with excellent results. Easy carry and good range. Better get it while you can. It will be a prime candidate for any ban that soon may be headed our way. ***************************************************** All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing |

Very accurate, but extremely LOUD! I'd suggest both ear plugs and muffs, and try to avoid indoor ranges. Definately not a good car gun, unless you're already deaf. | |

hi, new to the forum here. i bought a plr 16 a while back. i love it! if you can aford to buy yourself a "toy" then go for it. it also serves as a great target/ hunting gun too. .223 in a pistol with a 30 rd. mag, and still legal to carry with a permit. gotta love it. it also barks one heck of a flame out the end too! mine has the fore grip and a red dot sight. i love mine. havent had any problems what so ever. its the 3rd keltec i bought, i also have the p-11, and p3at. love them both. |

I took all your advise and got a PLR, A friend needed some cash and I got it from him, He had never fired it, Got it as a present and sat in his closet for several months, got it for under $500 Just finished putting all the add-on's on the gun, Front grip, Red Dot sight, everything that Kel Tech sells for the PLR. Put a Hogue slip on grip on it too! Makes holding it better, Have 4 -30 round Mags for it and 1K of ammo. Just waiting for the weather to warm a little and I'm on the way to the range. Will report back after a couple hundred rounds go downrange. I intend to use it Coyote hunting, Any reports about Coyote hunting with PLR would be Great, Effective range is the foremost question? Thanks all for the information and I will let you know about MY PLR soon! Regards |

I picked up my PLR 16 yesterday and had today off from work. Shot 200 rounds through the unit with no failures. I just wanted to shoot. No serious efforts of aiming, just getting used to the pistol. The rounds fly through quickly, with a serious FUN FACTOR in the machine. Purchased with the flash supressor, fore-end and sling. The sling makes a tight feel when firing and adds to the stability. I am able to fire it one-handed, but the length and weight of the unit makes it a little front heavy. Just want to play some more before I head to the range and get some serious scoping in on it. This is a great weapon with the .223 being a great round for many uses. |

| PLR-16 rocks
Dont think twice buy it. Two words come to mind when describing this gun "tack driver". Its right on the money and worth every penny. It eats any ammo fed to it, hits right on target every time, and has the meanest growl since the nagant M-44. I dont preditor or varment hunt so i cant say much for its huntability but its definatly a heck of a target pistol. Its a ton of fun and definatly gets noticed at the range. I do highly recomend the optional fore grip. It makes a good hand hold because its definatly not a one hander. |

Just a reminder, you have to watch the laws by attaching a fore-grip to the PLR-16. With that in place, that is another holding point that takes it from pistol to too short of a rifle and possibly illegal. Do not get caught carrrying with your fore-end grip concealed. Firing one-handed today came easier and easier. Great weapon. |

I have a prl16 on order. I was trying to decide on a new pistol or a new rifle; out of the blue, it occured to me to get BOTH in one piece! I had the SU16B, and was dumb enough to trade it off. As a defense gun, the prl16 may win the battle on looks alone!

I found a PLR 16 with a bunch of goodies and ammo. From what I've heard the last few days, these guns have soared in price and are virtually unobtainable. From all accounts, I got a deal. Has anyone out there used any Wolf steel cased 223 ammo? I've heard it will stick the spent cases in the chamber sometimes; also, that it is rough on the extractor. Some of the ammo I got is Wolf.

SOG, If you got a book with the PLR, You will find that KT says not to use the laquered steel cased Wolf Ammo, Their Brass cased ammo is OK though, Give the steel stuff to someone who has an AK. Go to KT website, think you can dwnld an instruction book! Hope you have fun with the PLR, I sure get the biggest kick out of mine. How much did you have to give for the pistol? MSRP is $665.00 PLR is AWESOME and I hope we are "Permitted" to keep them!! I got mine the same way, An aquaintance had it, Given as a gift, Never shot it, sold it to me for 500.00 has all the goodies, including KT Soft Case. Only problem is .223 is getting difficult to get at a reasonable price, it used to be 3.75 a box of 20, a long time ago. Enjoy the most Fun, Most lethal and loudest pistol ever made for 50 years. | Wolf ammo/PLR 16
Bob, thanks for the info on the Wolf ammo. I do remember now that I've heard about the laquer "cooking". The PLR I got had 500 rds ammo, 30 rd mags(a Brownells and a Tapco), all the lights ,scope, bells, whistles and a kitchen sink. Let me say that I probably paid too much, but all the dealers here tell me the price has gone up, and besides, they can't get them anyway. I've also heard that Keltec is going to drop production on them. So, I probably came out ok, in the long run. I can probably trade the Wolf stuff with a dealer that I've done business with for years. SOG

If you really want to see how accurate one of these are at long range-100+yrds,put a 2x7 pistol scope on it. With a red dot I usually shoot 3-4" at 100yrds,but with my pistol scope it shoots 1-2" groups. I was going to build an AR pistol until I bought the Kel-tec. They are just too much fun to shoot. |
