kel-tec sucks

With every manufacture a lemon can be "grown" sounds like you may have got one. i will concur with the satisfied as i use my PF9 as one of my carry weapons. not really a fun gun to shoot but it will but the round where you wanted them. I am now in search of a 2000 so i can decrease the calipers i have to keep stocked. hope you get it healed or send it to me!

I've had two Keltecs, the P3AT and the P-32. Didn't have problems with either, but they never felt right.. sold them both. I prefer something a little larger..

+1 on that! My wife's P32 is so small I can barely hold it. When I bought it a guy standing next to me said "Forget a holster, you could conceal that thing in your hand!"

Fits my wife just fine though. She wears a size 5-6 glove (5-6 year old that is).

I have a P3AT and I agree it isn't a comfortable gun but that isn't it's purpos. It is a small gun that I carry on the days when I am in shorts, t-shirt and flip flops which is most days living in Key West. I shoot it at the range once in a while to keep in practice but only shoot 50-100 rounds. If I ever need to shoot it to protect myself I won't really care about comfort.

Sorry about your problems, that would be frustrating for sure. I can only comment that after 200 rounds through the PF9 and 1100+ through the PLR, I have had no problems. I would not hesitate to get another. But if I had your problems, I could understand your position no matter what the brand.

I have a P3AT with an Armalaser. Its a great addition with hardly any extra weight.
Seems like they need to well lubed to function properly.A grip extension on the mag makes it more comfortable. The P3AT is a great carry gun kinda worthless at the range. Its purpose is close range self defense period.

+1 A P3AT was designed to shoot bad guys at close range not shoot targets at 25 yards.

+1 I don't own a P-11 but I have shot well over 1,000 rounds through my P3AT and it is still going strong.

I own a 32 and have in the past had a Tec-22 (and am still kicking myself in the ass for letting it go) ... both were bought used, and both were in need of parts. In bpth cases, I wrote off to Kel Tec, requesting the part numbers and price (plus shipping) for the parts I needed ..... in both cases (about 11 years apart), they replied by way of shipping the part, and never did give me a price for them. Admittedly, their products incorporate a lot of plastic and composite parts, and may not have the life expectancy of, say, a Colt 1911, but it's my experience that they stand by their products, and so far it hasn't cost me anything extra other than time.

FWIW, I own a P40 and a P32. The 32 has been 100% for me and I am accurate with it too. It is with me almost 100% of the time. Small and easily concealed. The P40 is picky about ammo. I can't use 180 gr out of it. The 155 is the best out of it. Never any issues other than a bad mag I have.

I bought my P-11 in 1997, and still carry it fairly regularly when I want something smaller/lighter than my 3.5" .45 or more rounds than my .38 Spec. S&W J-frame. I replaced the original mainspring because I got blisters on my trigger finger 'cause it was like a screen door spring

I hate that fact that you're having problems with your gun. I guess it's going to happen to someone at some time. I've had my PF-9 for over a year now, and have put over 600 rds through it, of different manufacture, and the only problem I have ever had with it is changing ammunition brands. It always takes 1/3 or 1/2 a box of different manufacture to break that brand in.

As far as the +P ammo goes, it's really common sense. Most small guns don't take hot ammo very well. +P is loaded hotter, so a small gun that normally kicks a bit, is going to kick a LOT more. I will say this, self-defense ammo shoots better than any hardball I've shot through it...

Another thing, I worked at a local gunrange through this past winter/spring and if I had a penny for every time someone brought either a P-3AT or Ruger LCP into the range, shot it and threw a fit because it "wouldn't shoot right", I'd be rich. Once again, it's a little pistol and it's gonna kick. But each time I shot that particular gun for the first time, I outshot some of the customers who had theirs since they came out, @ 30 feet distance. Which ain't really that far away right? What do you think that gun is made for? Sniping ground squirrels?

The .380 round itself is overall, an accurate round. I have shot various makes and models of .380 caliber pistols, some so cheaply made that they had to have been made out of scrap metal, but still shot very accurately.

Something to remember, you've got to face the fact that a little gun is going to be hard to grip if you've got big hands... Face it, it's fact.

Once again, sorry for any trouble you're having with your gun. Good luck, and don't blame the gun for being what it is. Same thing as blaming spoons for making Rosie O'Donn fat...

The early PF9s had some problems, but the latest production runs are good quality firearms. Check you Magazine releases, if its metal you've got a good gun, if its plastic- send it back to Kel-tec, it's my understanding that all their guns have a lifetime warranty.

Own a p3 and p9. I've put hundreds of rounds through each, without 1 failure. I was expecting a break-in period with the p3, but didn't notice any failure to fire. Sorry you got a bummer, but I'd buy again.

Hey ArkansasHunter: Ruger more refined? I guess that is why you have to pay more for the Ruger and then return it because of the recall. I have a Ruger MK so I am a fan of Ruger firearms but for what a mousegun is all about, you cannot beat a KT and still have money left over for THAT DARN EXPENSIVE 380 AMMO.
