Kimber Super Carry Ultra +

Wow, just saying "Kimber Super Carry Ultra +" was tough. Sounds like the name of a cartoon Super Hero.

Does anyone have one? I am getting the itch for a new gun and saw this one in a gun magazine. It looked good and received grand reviews. It is just the size I want and is nice looking. The person writing the review raved about it but is also on the payroll of a magazine in which Kimber spends hundreds of thousands of dollars advertising. I'm looking for opinions from people not on that payroll.

I have heard all good about Kimber's quality. The only thing bad I have heard is that they have very poor Customer Service after the sale. Anything else I should know before deciding to buy one or not to buy one?

I have the super carry pro. All I can say is that the gun is great, just throw away the mags that come with the gun and get Chip McMacormics.I have six Kimbers,I can put any of them in A holster and feel perfectly comfortable. I also have A great gunsmith that fine tunes my guns,I would never send A gun back to the factory for somthing that I can talk to my gunsmith about.

I have been carrying an Ultra CDP II for several years. Added Crimson Trace sights, and a couple other minor mods, and it eats whatever I feed it, and holds 2" patterns at 25+ yards all day long (better if I don't drink a Monster drink on the way out!).

I have a Kimber Ultra Elite that I have carried for nearly Ten years now with nary a hitch. Never had any dealings with Customer Service since I've never had a lick of trouble. When it was brand new the mags were a little rough so I took them apart and ran them in my vibratory case cleaner for 24 hours and that polished them to a fine satin sheen. Since then I've probably fired over 20,000 rounds without even one jam. I used to be a diehard Colt fan and at one time I had 13 Colts in 45 acp, 10 mm and 40S&W and they were all stainless Gold Cups. I had to do a lot of work on them to make them reliable so when Kimber started making 1911 clones I jumped on them with both feet and never looked back.
