| Different Kimber Models Hey guys...I'm getting my new handgun soon, and have been debating over the last few weeks between numerous quality firearms. My decision has come down to either a springfield armory TRP or a few different Kimbers. The Kimber models I was looking at include the Custom II, the SIS, and the "Pro TLE II" I absolutely love the look of the Pro TLE II, but I want a 5" barrel, and for some reason Kimber doesn't seem to offer it. Does anyone know if there is a version of Kimber - Continuing The Legacy in a 5"? I've come to realize SA, Kimber, and a few other companies are really quite similar. So at this point, its mostly asthetics. I've been having trouble finding a black 1911, green grips are as far as I'm willing to deviate from the black. I also prefer, aesthetically, when the magazine protrudes below and forward of the magazine well. Can all 1911s take those magazines? Does anyone have any feedback on any of this? Much appreciated. |

| I like it but dont want a rail or the tan grips, reminds me too much of aligator skin or something. Is there not a full sized 1911 that looks like the PRO TLE II? |

| I see. Well since I can just buy new grips, would you advise just getting the looks I like w/o the rail on a 1911 with say wood grips (that i had previously avoided because of the wood)? Do you, or does anyone, know if there exists a 5" version of the 4" PRO TLE II? They have a 5" stainless steel that I'd die for in black, but it doesn't seem to exist... Here is the stainless: http://www.kimberamerica.com/pistols...custom_tle_II/ Alright, well it looks like they DO have the Kimber TLE II in Matte, the picture is just stainless for both of them but if you read the specs one says stainless steel and one says matte black steel. How very misleading. Does anyone know what the LG in kimber pistols means? There is a TLE II and a TLE LG...is the LG laser grip? Last edited by twisterx44; 06-04-2008 at 01:07 AM.
