Beef with Kimber?

Some one told me that there is a push not to buy a Kimber because of some reason or another? It apparently has something to do with the SIS style and selling to the police force. Any one with an idea what this might be?

Only thing I've heard remotely near this is politicials and anti gun types being unhappy that a pistol designed specifically for law enforcement is being sold to the public. I handled the SIS today and personally didn't find it that nice...I prefer my Custom TLE II to it. Just me though.

The JPFO ran an article recently describing the reasons.
