Thumbs up

Do you mean the Fairbairne-Sykes Commando Dagger? I got mine about twenty years or so ago - carried it in my car during my Navy daze.
Not an original, and the scabbard was nothing like the true F-S style, but it's sharp and excellent quality. The blued steel blade takes a keen edge, and stays sharp. The cast copper handle is okay, but I used the black Plastidip on it, for a better feel and grip. I've been happy with it.
The new ones I see now are more like the original, including the leather scabbard with the tabs to sew it to the trouser leg.

yup thats it big dog. i will probably go ahead and get one then. i am just leary of buying knives thru a catalog. i did once and they were so cheap built it was rediculous. just didnt wanna get burned again. when i was in the army i never carried a "combat" knife persay. i just had an extra m-7 bayonet. it was hard to get a good edge on but once i did it was there to stay! i still have it too! (=...i would have liked to get the one i was issued too...but the armorer was a prick

Whirlind, the ones you are looking at are made in Pakistan, the finish on them is so-so compared to one by Sheffield in England. The handles are a tad bit shorter than the originals but the blade itself was razor sharp, the sheath was a total piece of cr*p. How well the blade will hold up under use/abuse I don't know. I had a British issue knife in my Army days. I had a cheap repro from Pakistan a few years ago when I was thinking about reenacting. Spend a few extra bucks and get a Sheffield blade. I thing they run somewhere around $40.00.
