Russian made knives

Here is a link to a russian firm selling knives, some of them look really nice. I might have to buy one to "check it out".

I think I like the Rocky best of them all. Nice blade shape with the serations on the back of the blade, rather than taking up half of the bottom of the straight edge.

They look business-like and usable; my kind of knives

My older son collects knives and edged weapons, but he's into Conan-the-Barbarian-type fantasy nonsense.

It hurts my eyes sometimes to look at the stuff he has hanging on his walls...

Talking

I went thru that phase in my D&D days. It spun me into military swords and bayonets later.
In Norfolk, I once bought a two-handed sword - four feet of not-so-sharp steel and brass! Lacking a box or bag long enough, I had to carry that thing all the way to my car, about three blocks away - in busy downtown! Got some WEIRD looks from people - seeing this 6'4" man mountain with a BIG sword over his shoulder. Lucky I made it to the car before the SWAT team got me!
I ordered a couple 12" blade Arkansas Toothpicks while out at sea, and gave them my home address for shipping. Dang! They came to my ship, in the IO! I managed to hide them before my Senior Chief or officers saw them! I was sweating the return to the US, as they supposedly did a search of the ship for contraband the squids brought back. They didn't find my knives!

The Ermak, Amigo and Sting would make a nice, all-around set for hunting/fishing/camp kitchen.

I found this review of the picnic knife. It is very similar to the Scadanavian Mora knife only longer.

That Fishman knife looks perfect or what I need. A good fillet knife is harder to come by than one would think. A little pricey though

Yep, the price is going to keep me from getting one I think. Although I have checked out Ebay and they do have a few for under retail value.

If the others are of comparable quality, I'll pass.

I read the thread on the Outdoor board. Sounds like the knives have some serious flaws. Oh well.
