| I just ordered a SOG.... I lost my Kershaw, and didn't wanna skimp on quality. I got the SOG FLASH I, half serrated. Cost $60 after shipping. Is there any benefits to a serrerated blade? Is it possible to sharpen the serrated? Also, would they hold an edge very well?

I recently wrote 2 of 3 articles for a leather worker group on sharpening, how to sharpen and the myths of sharpening which deal alot about edge geometry(working on the third now) They are accesable on my site in links section if anyone is interested | |

| My website is High Country Knives as for how often they need sharpening, well the answer is when they stop cutting whatever it is your using it for. |

| Would it be ok to sharpen it like a normal plain edged blade? Or would that damage it?

| Anytime! I got the info off of the dealer catalog they handed me when I went in to check out what kind of knives they had. Pretty, full-color, glossy-print paper full of edged-goodness. They even sell refurb's and 'defects' at their store there. I guess the defects are usually cosmetic, like a small scratch or dent on the handle; nothing that would affect the functionality of the blade.

| Did you get my comments on Myspace? Also, I would buy those refurbs and defects and sell em on gunbroker. That might make you a few $$$.
