| Found This Knife...
Hello, I found this knife in with some old fishing stuff. I think it was Dad's, but I've not asked him yet. I remember going through his tackle box when I was little and seeing a BIG yellow handled pocket knife, which I guess this is. Isn't has big as I remember though. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...shingknife.jpg Having picked up some rust over the years, I need to clean it up... Is this knife anything special? Anyone recognize the crown emblem? It certainly doesn't feel like a cheapo. Thanks, Josh <><

It's from the 1950s. Try cleaning up the gunk at the base of the blade and I think you'll find it was made by Crown USA or something like that. I sold one of these for $20 on eBay three years ago, which is why I remember it; but that one was unused. They're good fisherman's knives.

I believe it says "Imperial," then, "Providence RI." Josh <><

I was just fixing to say it looks like an old Imperial when I saw your last post. These were very good quality knives for the price back in their day. I used to have a single-blade with fake bone handles that would take and hold a wicked edge-good steel.

Imperial is the company that bought shrade years ago and then went defunct. Special as in value, I doubt it though if you really really want to know i can look it up. Special as in is might have been your dads favorite, Invaluable

I thought it was an Imperial too. They most of sold a bunch because you saw them here to. I got one like it with Green Stamps when I was a little feller but it may have been a cheap azz Sabre or that one in the picture. I don't remember...A.H |
